Fletcher Substrate Cutter

Post by TJR »

Please forgive the sales pitch language tailored to eBay users, at whom this advert is primarily targeted, but in case you haven't seen it, here's a heads up. FF members will be familiar with the FSC, I imagine. There are photos with the eBay listing; here are the words:
The machine offered for auction is in used but excellent cosmetic and functional condition, used in recent years by one private artist-user. It can be easily disassembled for transport in an estate-type vehicle and reassembled single-handedly. These machines sell at $3-4 thousand new.

The Fletcher Substrate Cutter (FSC) is a heavy-duty machine that can be used either fixed to a wall or floor-standing. The rigid steel and aluminium beam construction ensures the machine can be set up to remain square. It uses a range of interchangeable cutting tools engineered to suit a range of materials with simple change over in seconds. The interchangeable cutting head design also ensures the future-proofing of the machine, as Fletcher commits to upgrades in blade design as new substrates emerge. Clearly legible metric and imperial measuring is provided vertically and horizontally (to left and right) with useful double production stops at each side. Accuracy is further enhanced by a laser device at the top of the machine that ensures an accurate sight line.

These tools and their cutters and their tool caddy are included in this sale:
Half inch blade for card, paper, plastics, pvc, etc.
Quarter inch blade cuts to 7 mm with greater blade support than ½ inch.
Aluminium composite using a rotary wheel holder for aluminium faced materials to 7 mm.
Aluminium sheet to 1.6 mm.
Acrylic blade holder to score and break up to 7 mm.
Glass scoring wheel to 7 mm, minimum width advised as 2 ¾ inches.

In addition, the following spares are included: ½ blade (five); ¼ inch heavy duty blades (nine) and wheel units (nine).

The FSC will need to be collected by prior arrangement.
