Wanted: books for a newcomer

Post by gavinr »

I’m just starting out in framing and am looking for books to help me learn and to use for reference, particularly the Vivian Kistler library of professional framing series but would consider anything that can help me. I’m also interested in books about the business side of framing as well.

If anyone has any suitable books they no longer need and would like to sell please let me know.

Vivian Kistler books are good, but very American oriented, like 'Mat' instead of Mount, 'Rabbet' instead of Rebate so on and so forth.......

Good place to find framing books is The Fine Art Trade, https://www.fineart.co.uk/shop/Default.aspx

Or Lion Picture Framing Supplies, they have a good seletion https://www.lionpic.co.uk/search?q=books

Hi there,

We are in the process of closing down and may have a few books that might be helpful! We also have a large pile of Art+Framing Today, a trade magazine made by The Fine Art Trade Guild, which are great for tips, articles etc! I’ll post a link here to the description and subscription price.

https://www.fineart.co.uk/art_and_framing_today.aspx

We could send you these for £20 plus postage if they’re any good to you? Let me know :)
