Successful bidders will be invited to view and collect their items from Kent/Southeast London area.
All items as seen.

Wow, what a strange way to sell stuff!
Bidding on items, sight unseen and almost no details in the descriptions? Several items in the list duplicated?

Who is the person who has posted the list and who does he/she represent?

Is this some sort of scam? April fools day has come and gone already!

Re Mega Equipment Sale

Post by GL@profile »

Hello Ormond,

Thank you for your Enquiry,
This is no sort of a scam.
All the equipment is genuinely for sale to buyers who can travel and collect from Kent / South London.
Anyone who requires specific information is invited to E-mail me, and I will honestly supply any information that I can.

I agree , it is rather a strange way to sell so much equipment -- but due to the time constraints -- I thought I would offer it to the members of the Forum. It will be interesting to see the results.

As you ask.....
Profile Mouldings Ltd has been Supplying Picture Frame Moulding for @20 years to customers in Southeast England and the rest of the UK.
Some two years ago we acquired the rights and stock of Byron Mouldings.
I Own the Company.
We are new to the Forum but not to the Framing Industry.

Best Wishes
Guy Lambert Profile Mouldings Ltd (Tel 01892 515506)

I forgot to mention:
1. Reason for no descriptions -- the post would have been too long had I included them . Please E-mail me or call for any specific information required.
2. Reason for some duplication of the list is a cut and paste error by me -- apologies.
This is a genuine sale.

Best wishes

Concerns

Post by bez7293 »

Surely this system is open to abuse, wouldn't you say? If for example, you received ten bids of under £100 for something that was worth considerably more, whats to stop you not selling it at all? If you were to be questioned about it, you would say that it was sold for a higher sum.

I do hate to bring these points up, however, if you are as honest as you sound you would hopefully understand the public's concern.

Furthermore, when and if successful do you envisage contacting the lucky winners?

Thanks

Re Concerns

Post by GL@profile »

Hi Bez,
Many thanks for your concerns.
The items in this sale are more likely to interest the trade than the public.

As I Hope I stated , this is not an auction ( It is, I guess, a sale by informal tender).
The successful bidders will be invited to inspect, pay for, and collect their items as soon as I have colated all the bids (hopefully by Tuesday next week).

The most anyone will be risking is the time, and costs, of a trip to the Kent / London borders.

Good Luck, I hope this answers your enquiries.
You (or anyone else) can call me on 01892 515506 and I will do my best to answer any other questions you may have.
Best wishes Guy Lambert Profile Mouldings Ltd

Having dealt with Guy for more years than I care to remember I can assure you that he is as honest as he sounds. I would have no hesitation in recommending Guy to anyone in the framing trade.

Now Guy, if I told you that you may feel that you had to buy me a drink.

Enough to say we both go back to the Magnolia/Scharf days and we have seen each other in the past week.

Other than that I prefer to remain just TTC.

:D maybe so. It's must be 10 years since I've seen him and he was 'retired' then. He was one of the first reps I saw when I started and he continued to call regulary. Not always for the same company, but was with Scharf for a good few years. :D
