Re: WANTED GUILLOTINE MORSO OR VERY SIMILAR!
no real alternative to a morso. although the orteguil model 80 is a good design, and framers corner do a morso type machine which people seem very happy with, i've bought both of the alternatives used, and still didn't replace my 1974 morso with them.
One issue I have with morsos is the waste chute (if fitted) spouting out the back, where the original model of the ortegiul 80 -which is build like a dustbin - you can sweep it out the front. Plus the enclosed nature of the morso means that in due course it fills up inside with wood chippings
imho if you buy a morso you get a proven piece of machinery, if you buy a morso copy, you get a proven design, and differently made blades. But they mostly all seem to do the job.
The morso NOT to get is the bench mounted thing.
