Euro Underpinner Spares

Post by newie31 »

After breaking the tip of my wedge driver/hammer on my Euro underpinner I was dismayed to find spare parts unavailable.

Through a contact in the engineering business I had it repaired, but decided to make enquiries about having new ones made.

I am now able to supply ‘hockey stick’ shaped wedge driver/hammers for Euro Mouldings 8002 floor standing underpinners; I believe this will also fit an 8001 wall mounted machine.

They are cut out of hardened Nickel Chrome by a ‘wire-eroding machine’, the V is ‘spark eroded’ in, and then the outside is ground to give exact dimensions and a smooth finish.

Due to the materials and processes involved the cost is £50 inc P&P.

Anyone interested can PM me, items will be posted direct from the UK.

Mark

Hi Mark,
I'm hoping this is the solution to my problem. I too have a broken edge on the hammer/driver of my Euro underpinner. Unfortunately, although I bought it new in 2001 before they went under, I can't remember what model it is and I no longer have the paperwork. It's a manual model and can either e wall mounted or floor standing, so hoping this is either the 8001 or 8002, can you shed any light on whether or not this is so.

Here's hoping

Very enterprising Newie, well done - I imagine one or two may be grateful for a lifeline. May I pass this on to a wider customer base?

In answer to the 2 previous posts.................

Hi Spook,
The manual floor standing model was the 8002 and the wall/bench mounted was the 8001. As you look at the machine from the front there should be a sticker on the left side of the headstock below the hinge point for the arm stating which model it is. Failing that, drop the hammer out of the machine, if it looks like the ones in my photos then they should be the same, the 1st one I was sent was not hockey stick shaped it was straight and obviously the wrong item.

Yes Old Master, fill your boots and pass it around, if I can help anyone out I'm more than happy :D

Hi Mark

Just to let you know the hammer works perfectly in the Euro 8001 model. My old machine is working like new again.

Many Thanks. It would have been a great shame to have to dump the machine for the sake of this small part.

Many Thanks also for very quick delivery from France.

What would be the chances of replicating this ......

The hammer for the Euro 9000 benchtop - it's chipped - I have one more which isn't much better but once that's gone it's a new machine.

Hi Robo,
I've emailed your photos to my contact to see if he can still do 'homers' at work, he will probably need the old one to take all the measurements from. If he can do it I'll get the address from him for you to post it to and a price,

Hope this helps

Excellent, thank you. Maybe there's a small market for them, there must be a good few of these machines still PTSSST-THUNKing away.

There are a few companies offering to 3d print small metal parts, a quick Google search will find one or two, I am contemplating buying one of these machines.

I think I might also be in the market for a couple like Roboframer's. Need to check first, but please keep me posted if there are any developments.

Re: Euro Underpinner SparesJust seen post by newie31 about replacement hammers+ pos block to go with for Euro 8001

Post by Phoenix »

Hi, have just seen a post by newie31 from 2001 relating to replacement hammer for Euro wall mount/bench mount manual underpinner.(sorry 2011 not 2001) Is there any chance hammers can still be sourced ? My underpinner, bought prob just before company went has finally got to the point where it keeps fouling wedges, reluctantly having to buy another dif underpinner to keep in production. Hoping for a miracle, any chance? phoenix

In reply to the previousl request, I still have some of these available, having returned from France recently I am now based in the UK so P&P will be slightly cheaper.
Please PM me with contact details if you are interested.

Hi- are there any hammers available for the euro 9000 series machines.
Also any idea where I can buy spare seals for the pneumatics?
