Post by Photal »

Hi Can anyone enlighten me on the pricing apps and software you can buy and which are the best and which are to avoid?
Cheers

EstLite is a Windows application. However it will work on a mac running a Windows emulator, although I've no personal experience with this setup.

We've been using Estlite for several years. It is easy to use, reliable, good support from John and importantly no ongoing costs.

Estlite here. Been using it for years. solid, reliable, works well, always kept up to date, great support.
Started with BBest which is the sort of lite version for pricing only without the database, that is also very good indeed.

Hi

There are quite a few out there. On page 192 of the Lion 54 catalogue there is information about a few pricing softwares. Royal framing supports Mac, but I think he has retired and was selling the software at a very fair price. Give him a shout.

I myself now use i-framer, it is cloud based so it does not matter if you run PC or Mac. Fairly well priced and on a monthly direct debit to help spread the cost, along with excellent support. I believe a number of framers have moved on to it from other softwares including myself as it gives me a more complete package and seems to be future proofed. I am small fry in the framing arena, but I can see the future possibilities should I become a larger operation.

We have started using i-framer, but not totally happy with it, the other week the server was down, luck I was closed, as would not have been able to price anything, also when entering our own products into the database, they do not always show up when you enter the code for them when pricing. As a Start Up business you can't go wrong with Estlite, we are still keeping up to date and might go back to it in a few months

Ditto for Estlite, as a one man band I cant see the advantage of running software in the cloud, I backup every night religiously to Dropbox, never had a problem with it the years I've been running it . It's a piece of pish to use as well, before I moved to Estlite I used pricing software that I had to pay a monthly fee for and took so long to price a job for a customer it was embarrassing

If you're starting out I don't think you can go wrong with Estlite, a one off fee and no monthly payments, simples !
