I tend to go with KISS, Keep It Simple, put the card in, enter the amount, customer enters pin, receipts pops out (keep one for your records) .

The Judopay looks pretty good Mark the only thing stopping me using it right now is that £50 setup cost.
If you would like to pay by card just phone this number from your mobile quoting this reference number, amount and card details or come back with cash.
Sounds pretty easy to me.
Would work great for the website orders who want to pay by phone too.

Once the cash appears in your Judopay account, you still have to wait a few days, before they will let you transfer it into your normal bank account. It's not hard to see how they are making their money!
I still might go for it! I like the fact that there is no rental, or standing charges. No transactions = no charges.

Re: Taking Card Payments with iZettle ?
A bulldoser once took out our card taking facility, for one whole day every card payment had to be rung through to cardsave for authorization.
What a massive pain in the viola that was, customers were getting fed up of waiting to pay, if your shop is busy and you plan on making it busier then don't fart about with half assed payment schemes that would give your business a rinky dink look, also I would feel uneasy about ringing some company I had never heard of with my card details.
Get a card machine, it's got to be quicker, and time is money, 10 - 15p for a debit payment I can handle, wasted time I can not, we spent xxxx on a cmc to save 30seconds per mount, believe me all these little bits of time mount up.

Re: Taking Card Payments with iZettle ?
I'm not a shop, I don't have a phone line and I don't take many card payments most are happy paying by cash, bank transfer or cheque.
I can't justified over £60+ odd a month for a card machine that's used a few times so have been searching for a solution.
Problem is nothing is perfect.

We're just applying to use a company called ELAVON for their merchant services. £17.99 per month, and 21p per transaction. Nice and simple... And if your business bank is with Santander, the money is in the account within 24 hrs

Dodgey how chris?
They are the 4th largest in us and 6th largest in Europe.
I have had no problems with them, their call centre was in Ireland, their rates seem competitive, my dosh is in my account in max 3 days. Their online system is very efficient for getting statements, breakdown of transactions etc
I use pay zone to front them and again have no problems, Cheshire call centre, £17.99 for a terminal PCM.

Like abacus, we use them with no problems, we pay a bit more for the terminal rental, but we went for the more expensive wireless machine, at 1.2% for credit cards and 12p for debit cards I think we get a very good deal. through RMS, card save also use Elavon, if memory serves me right they also make missile parts.
