Faulty mouldings
We have found that several supplied mouldings have either had flaws such as black marks (looks like pencil), areas where the finish is not complete, is rough in parts or is warped. Is this common and if so how have you managed this with your supplier?

Re: Faulty mouldings
Common problem, usually supplier compensate in what they charge you quite often see a sticker with telling you 1ft has been accounted for as damaged, or if you measure the moulding and look at the pack length the pack length will be actually less than expected. I would always report it though as being flawed.
Some suppliers are better than others and some ranges are better than others from a single supplier. In general mouldings sourced from europe tend to be better quality (and dearer) than those from Asia and the Pacific regions.

Remember you are not buying retail. You aren't paying retail prices. If you buy 100ft and 80ft ends up in frames then you aren't doing too bad. Occasionally you are going to get really bad packs with lots of warpy, dented stuff. In that case the supplier will usually credit or swap it. But in general you have to expect a few niggly flaws and structure your prices to factor in wastage.
