- After nearly 20 years, Renaissance Mouldings Ltd will close at the end of
May 2015. Some of us will retire while others will begin a new journey and
we wish them success in the future. - For our customers, we have arranged to pass on our stock to Centrado Trading
Ltd who will be able to offer you an even wider range of wooden and polymer
mouldings from their headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. They also
offer competitively priced glass, backing board, wood and plastic mouldings
and sundry items which they deliver weekly in their own vehicles. If you
are outside their van delivery areas, you will be served by national
carriers for mouldings and boards, as you are at the moment, so your service
will not be interrupted. - Renaissance will continue to trade as normal until 26 May 2015, when the
last orders will be dispatched from Waltham Abbey. The stock will then be
transferred to Centrado and be available to you from 1 June 2015. A new
catalogue is being prepared to illustrate the combined product range and
this will be supplied to all customers as soon as possible. - Invoices raised by Renaissance up to and including 26 May 2015 will still be
payable to Renaissance Mouldings Ltd and our contact details will remain
unchanged. We will still be available in the premises for the next few
months while we close down the site. We will be pleased to help and advise
in any way we can although all new orders will be dispatched and invoiced by
Centrado after 26 May. - It has been a pleasure to serve you over these many years both from
Renaissance and before from Scharf Mouldings just down the road in Waltham
Cross. We have seen enormous changes in our industry over the years, some
good and others less so but we have many happy memories and in many ways
feel sadness as we come to the final chapter of our history in the framing
business. - We know that the new arrangement with Centrado will give you an efficient
service and enhance the product range available to you. Please be assured,
that in our planning, we have done everything we can to ensure that the
transition will be as smooth as possible and cause you the minimum of
inconvenience. - As we say farewell, we wish all our customers a long and prosperous future.

Re: The end of Renaissance Mouldings Ltd
Seemed like a decent company to me, it is a shame they have gone.
Centrado seem to be a growing force in the framing trade, they look after me rather well.

Re: The end of Renaissance Mouldings Ltd
Its always sad when a distributor closes, but its the trend
Belgium has 11 million pop and just 2 distributors
The UK has how many distributors ?
Makes you wonder if/when more will follow Renaissance

Very sad news when any firm ceases
we used to supply Renaissance with mouldings a few years back and always thought them a very good company to work with
best of luck in what ever new venture you go into

Re: The end of Renaissance Mouldings Ltd
I haven't been able to be anymore than just an occasional customer for Renaissance Mouldings, but they had a wonderful range of traditional mouldings and many of these had that handfinished look and feel, even when they were in fact factory finished mouldings.
Some even were actual hand finished mouldings and many were produced by the best of italian and Spanish moulding producers. Whoever it was within Renaissance who selected which mouldings to include in their range, did an inspired job. Before the recession came along, I used sell better quality mouldings in much better quantities than now, but now it's a lot harder and I guess that companies cannot easily adapt to such difficult times.
Their sevice was first rate in every way and it's a crying shame to hear this sad news. They were an outstanding compamy and I would suggest that they had so much to be justly proud of. I can only express my best wishes to all their staff and hope that they are successful in finding new and worthwhile future opportunities in todays difficult times.

Re: The end of Renaissance Mouldings Ltd
It was the lower end of our market that suffered during the recession, we sell more medium to high end mouldings than ever before,

Re: The end of Renaissance Mouldings Ltd
The first half of this year I've hardly sold any factory finished mouldings over £2 per foot.

Very sad to hear as people lose they're jobs makes u wonder if there's other smaller long established company's ready to do the same.i think there's still a big need for local wholesalers in the trade we are in there's always that quick job needing done big job to send vans all over the country.
