This sort of photography does well amongst the human species of a different gender.
It could make you a lot of money. Grit your teeth. Ignore the ribald comments you receive on here, and make a million
ATB with your photography venture
Lol, I was not overly impressed with the daft bonnets and weird stuff my wife ordered for this venture, but you can visibly see the mothers actually melt when the see the pictures, interest is rapidly growing and it makes the wife happy too
I did studio & wedding photography for 30years. I use to admire a lot of my work especially studio stuff of kids. As often as not the mothers would select photos entirely different from what I thought were the best for enlargement/framing. Regardless of what other people think of your props, your lighting and focus are perfect. When I was doing the studio work I used to buy my props and backgrounds from an American company called DENNEY. They had a mighty selection. Good luck with your Photography, it's a tough business, Kevin.
Photographers often tell me this that the shot which people choice and wooooooooo over aren't necessarily the best shot or what you consider the perfect shot, but they are the one which perhaps sums up their little Jimmy's character or the one which captures that cheeky grin that our kids only do to us.
At the end of the day though as long as the customer is happy and you are making money from it, then everyone is happy
Thanks Kevin the wife will be happy with your comments, she happens to be one of those Americans and gets lots of stuff from over there.
The customer is over the moon with her pictures, as for making money, we have spent close to 20k on the studio and equipment, props and stuff, I think it will be a while before it turns a profit, the wife is a happy lady though, it's what she has always wanted to do, worst case scenario is we get thousands of great pictures of our kids and a really nice room for cups of tea and wotnot in the back of the shop.
I think it is a good edition to what we do, in 2004 we added digital printing to framing and that was a very very good move, hopefully this will be too.
I have seen this picture on a Facebook feed somewhere but can't remember where. I don't have small people anymore so not signed up to any little people pages, good that its getting out there. Wishing your every success with the new venture I'm sure it will be a hit.
Thanks Michelle, it got shared a fair bit as did others from the shoot, by the family and by us, it also was shared by the people that made the props so could have been from there if you are a photographer.
