Renovation of water damaged print

Post by Hannahframer »

A customer of mine has a fairly valuable limited edition print by Kitaj which has suffered water damage caused by damp seeping through the wall on which it was hung. The water has rotted through the backing board which in turn has left several small stains on the paper. The back of the paper an area about 2" diameter has become exfoliated. It obviously needs serious professional help! Does anyone know of a conservator in the South West, preferably Devon, who would be able to repair/restore it?

http://www.conservationregister.com/ is full of people - who will restore virtually anything, in fact.
