Was searching for summat else and this came up UGH
New mothers can buy picture frames made from own placenta
One customer says she can understand how people might think it is "yucky" but she will keep her placenta in a cool box after giving birth so it can be made into a frame

"Miss Cotton uses the entire placenta to make a frame, first boiling and cooking it and then grinding it into small pieces before placing it into a mould with resin and other materials"
.... then it's in to the dishwasher with all the pans and then they're all ready for breakfast.
BARF!
Brighton should be sawn off and shoved out to sea.

Re: You have got to be kidding!
That reminds me of when I worked as a hospital porter, one day I was in the Delivery Suite in sluice room, and a group of trainee midwives were being shown what to do with the placenta by a qualified midwife, and the lecture was something like this
" you need to inspect the placenta to make sure everything is OK and healthy, so first look at it, (so she bent down to look at it) then touch it ( she then picked it up and held it up to the window) then smell it ( she then held it to her nose) now taste it" ( she then put a bit in her mouth) there was an almighty bang as one of the trainees fainted

Re: You have got to be kidding!
Please tell me those photos are not really what they are described as and what was described did not actually happen.
If so ... BTW, was it rare, well done ... what?
BAAAAAARFF!!!
(Edit) Ok - I googled it and it happens, fortunately I'm in a bungalow-by-the-sea God's-waiting-room sort of area and I doubt if I have anyone very close to me that would indulge in that sort of thing.
Won't be checking this thread again, thank you!
