Hydraulic Morso

Post by pichousepreston »

Does anyone on here us a hydraulic morso? I've ended up with one but find that it struggles to cut mouldings that I managed previously to cut with a foot operated one. On wide mouldings, say 95 mm that are high at the front it just can't get through the first cut. Should it be able to or is this beyond it's capabilities. It was hard work but I always managed with legwork!

Never used such a beast but I'm thinking if it struggles it is time to cut a starter bite with a handsaw. Although the machine will take moulding that width the blades don't really go back far enough for an manageable first bite. You aren't doing the blades or the machine itself any good trying to force it.

I Have one and not had a problem - although on the very widest of mouldings its the first cut that is the most difficult, after that no problem with the right number of bites. Make sure you have the right pressure set on your compressor.
