Taurus 2KF help needed

Post by uncleric »

Hi,

I've got a problem with my Taurus 2KF underpinner. The metal parts that pushes V nail into the moulding cracked and now when you release your foot it doesn't return to its original position.
Does anyone know where to get a spare part? Are these sold at all?

Thank you!

Yes, that happened a few times. It is removed now but the metal bar is broken in half the there is no connection between the pedal and the hummer

You could try http://www.framersequipment.co.uk/tauru ... ipment.htm

It's says "spares still available", but the page might be out of date. :?

I've tried but they can't get hold of the manufacturer :)
Will be ordering Charnwood M4 and selling Taurus for spares.
Any reviews on Charnwood?
Thank you!

I could do with a magnetic tool. :P Better than a bent nail.

Thank you for the video. It always looks good on a video but in real life could be a real pain :)
Anyway should get it today. Hopefully better than the Taurus 2KF :)

I'll be selling my old Charnwood/Framers Corner M3 in a couple of weeks if interested.

I'll do that shortly. For now I can certainly say that I'm NOT really happy with it.

I have a Barlow v-nailer, the owner retired and the machine is now an orphan.
I made a replacement push rod after looking at the old one. The original was made from 1/4" x 1/4" square rod. The old push rod was held in place with a set screw. I cut a new piece of square rod to length, squaring the working face and placed it into the top of the pneumatic cylinder where the old one was located - tightening the set screw.

IT WORKS.

I would also clean your machine of glue for better working. Your machine might use 6mm x 6mm vs 1/4" x 1/4" square rod. Measure twice and cut once.

Hi, that sounds great.
I've attached a picture of it. It definitely looks like a square rod. Do you know where can I find it? It is not a problem to drill a whole in it for a screw, but how would I remove the of the metal (working face)? Or will be just flat square?
Maybe there is some compatible drivers for different underpinners?
