Moulding identification - with pictures

Post by 22rabbits »

Does anyone know where to get this moulding? We are in Ireland and have gotten it here from a framer, that was before we started framing ourselves. We now want to supply and make them ourselves. 77mm x 46mm with a 24mm deep rebate

That looks like a Phoenix moulding. Made in Ireland I do believe. Whether it's still available is another matter. :?

They are manufacturers I think and don't sell directly to the trade but to wholesalers. The finish is very distinctive. I think I saw some in the Simons cat recently, but maybe not that profile.

I may be dreaming the whole thing, but as soon as I saw the photo I thought Phoenix and Ireland. Much more than that I don't know.

Where's Uncle Keith when you want him?

Photos are all too close-up, if you say it's x by x mm we'll believe you, no need for a micrometre!

I think that you are going to be very hard-pressed to find it. While I recognise the finish I've never seen it in that profile. It's a very refined finish, quite expensive as I remember, so probably never made in large quantities.

ye it is expensive or at least is when we buy the assembled rims. it would probably be too cheeky to ask the framer we were getting them supplied from, but he can get them.
