Gielle Underpinners

Post by bsaunders »

I am looking to replace my underpinner and have been offered a 7 year old Gielle 4000E, complete with moulding supports.
This an air operated underpinner.
Does anyone have experience of this make? I'm looking for feedback and advice before taking a look at this one on Monday evening.

Many thanks.

Yes, I have! They are solidly made and well engineered, but most of the spare parts have to come from italy. Most people who have one are very happy with them. They have four individual pressure gauges and regulators for the top clamp, rebate clamp, wedge feed cylinder and hammer cylinder and they are unbelievably heavy to lift as well.

What ever you do don't take the underpinner off of it's tilting stand, it very easy to take it off, but very hard to get it back onto the stand.
