Framing Equipment for Sale - Business Closed
Hi – I spent nearly 18 months trading as a picture framer before deciding it wasn’t really for me and that I needed a more reliable way to make a living (!). Therefore I have a selection of equipment that I would like to sell as a result of winding up the business (and my very kind friends urgently need their storage space back!). Make me an offer! Collection would need to be arranged by the buyer from West Dorset.
1) Morso F guillotine – in good working order (see attached pics - apologies for them not being up the right way). Comes complete with the left-hand moulding support (£110 new in Lions); waste chute (£45 in Lions) & box guard (£85 in Lions). The acrylic finger guards are missing. Also comes with an alternative set of rebate supports (£50+ in Lions); and 3 spare sets of blades (£200 each in Lions). £650
2) Keencut System 4000 – for cutting mount board, glass, acrylic and hardboard. Comes with a copy of the instruction manual. £350
3) Alfamachine Minigraf 4 Underpinner – pneumatically operated with foot pedal. Adjustable working angle (so can work flat or at more of an angle – my preference). Comes with 2 different horizontal rebate clamps (one sprung loaded - £40 in DJ Simons); L-shaped magnetic felt block; 7mm, 10mm & 15mm V-nail blocks and a selection of V-nails/wedges. £400
4) Speed Mat (model no. 3648) – for cutting out mounts. Wall mounted, with pneumatic clamping for keeping board in place. Has got tape on the board (I kept meaning to spend time removing it, but never got around to it), but makes no difference to its performance. Knifehead was refurbed by Pete Stanwick in May ’14. Comes with instruction manual & FAQs trouble-shooter. £500
5) Bambi HT24 Oil Free Compressor – new in May ’14 (£500). Compact and portable (doesn’t require annual insurance inspection). Comes with hose extension on reel; lubricator (new March ’15) & lubricator oil; recoil hose and any connectors I can find. And I’ll throw in a well used but still useful pneumatic screwdriver and an air nozzle. £400
6) Omer 53 Tab Gun – pneumatic, good used condition and would probably benefit from a new nose plate (although still works fine despite the fact it’s fairly worn); comes with manual and nearly full box of semi-rigid tabs. £125 (+ p&p if required)
7) Omer 50.16 Stapler – pneumatic, single shot lightweight stapler. Handy when stretching canvas. Comes with a couple of boxes of staples. £85 (+ p&p if required)
Axminster AW50N Nailer – pneumatic 50mm nailer, fires 15mm to 55mm brad nails. Comes with whatever nails I have left and manual. £25 (+ p&p if required)
9) Axminster Sander Model 577011 – pneumatic compact round headed sander with sanding discs. £25 (+ p&p if required)
ALSO AVAILABLE:
10) Lions Bench End Guillotine - in a fairly weathered condition. I would imagine it would need a bit of oiling and a blade sharpening to make it useable, it also seems to have a foot pedal. They cost £595 new in Lions (see pg 26 in Lions 51), so happy for anyone who wants to give it a shot at to come and get it FOC.
11) Keencut Rondo - (for cutting circular mounts) again could do with a bit of a clean up, not even sure if all parts are there. I know that it needs a new glass plate for the ‘table’ (this fell out and broke when I moved it). I do have an instruction manual, so again, happy for anyone who wants to give it a shot to come and get it FOC otherwise it will go to the great framing workshop in the sky.
12) Arcadia mountboard - a mix of colours and quantities; make me an offer if interested.
13) Mouldings – many and various, bare woods, painted, etc. Make me an offer if interested (really need to get shot so you could get a bargain!).
14) Books – a selection of literature, make me an offer:
Pure Agony – Pete Bingham (2006)
The Picture Framing Course – Pete Bingham (1995)
Picture Framing as a Business – J Edwin Warkentin (2009 – USA)
Profitable Picture Framing – Bernard Masser MBIM (2000)
Brian Wolf’s Workbook of Fantasy Finishes for Mat Decoration (1991)
Guild Commended Framer Study Guide – FATG (2006)
The Sansovino Frame – The National Gallery (2015)
The Library of Professional Picture Framing:
Mat Cutting & Decoration (Vol.2) – Vivian C. Kistler (1998)
Mounting Methods (Vol.5) – Vivian C. Kistler (2008)
Any questions please ask, and I’ll do my best to answer them!
Thanks, Lottie
