CTD Double Mitre Saw... Perfect.. Good .. Just ok?

Post by thepictureframer »

Hi, I have the opurtunity to purchase a newish CTD 14" double mitre saw.
I'm in Australia.. this is probably the only CTD saw in the country... As such.. Ive got no idea if its a good/perect or just ok saw.
Any CTD double mitre saw users out there with an opinion.
Im currently using a 20 yr old OMGA.. which cuts great, and being hand operated gives me a lot of control when cutting. I'm used to perfect corners, but limited to a 90mm cut.

Anyhow.. Any thoughts on CTD's general quality and quality of cut?

The CTD machines are solid. Maintenance is not hard. The pivoting heads are adjustable for angle.

In addition to having properly sharpened blades, check the bearings of the arbors for wobble (run out). Bearings on any machines arbor are a wear point and can be replaced if worn. Wobble will effect the cut.
