BT/Openreach

Post by Trinity »

We've an overhead line coming into the house and have been without telephone and broadband since I reported a line fault on 28 Jan
I get fobbed off with false promises every time I manage to get through to the bt aisian call centre
Open reach don't deal with the public, no obvious way of contacting them ditto BT
Any ideas that might get me a UK contact please

Switch to ICUK as your phone provider. I have had problems with my line for the past few weeks, rented via icuk, I reported a fault on Sunday engineers are booked to come on Wednesday. Also you get to speak to somebody in London, and they always answer emails. Brill.

And who do icuk rent their lines off? And who will be contracted to fix the line? I would be very suprised if a BT open reach engineer doesn't come out.

Yes it is BT openreach, but the point is you can talk to someone in the uk and get an engineer to come out without a lot of grief.

I switched to BT because I couldn't talk talk couldn't talk properly to open reach when when I was in need of a new line. I could talk to someone in the UK with BT and got a line sorted with in 2 weeks something that Talk Talk Business had taken 6 months and continually failed.

One method I tend to use is to go through to the usual BT Indian call centre, ask for my MAC code as I wish to move to a different provider and suddenly I'm put through to an English engineer full of concern and empathy.

I would just email Johnny McQuoid - Managing Director of Customer Services (Openreach) Direct contact got things going for me.
