I've been selling paintings for a good few years and I have found that while people will admire and marvel
at paintings like that for the sheer effort and undoubted skill.
But you don't want them to admire the stuff. You want them to buy it.
People don't buy paintings because they are cleverly executed. They buy them if they like them.
Anyone remember Tom Keating? He used to have a TV prog back in the day where he would demonstrate the various techiques
of famous artists. (He was known as a faker.
) One thing he said always stuck with me....
"Always leave the eye some work to do"
