One of my sets isn't quite deep enough to go right to the bottom blades and stops a fraction short.
Is there a way to adjust this or is it time to buy a new set of blades?
Morso blades
Re: Morso blades
You can adjust the blade travel with the two nuts that join the tie rod from the cutter block to the pedal. Slacken the top nut
just enough and let the cutter block drop and then tighten the bottom nut. This reduces the hight of the blades
so they might not go high enough to cut some mouldings. In that case you need some new blades.

Is there a way of telling by looking at the blades if you need a new set, or a set depth they should be?

My guess would be when they refuse to sharpen them its time for a new set, but I have not had that happen as yet!pramsay13 wrote:Is there a way of telling by looking at the blades if you need a new set, or a set depth they should be?

I had a set that were within 5 mm of the braze line. They were fine and cut well up until they went ping whilst cutting one day. They are good for cutting taller wide mouldings though.

Re: Morso blades
When the blades get very low I find that when cutting some mouldings the shavings jam in the apex at the front where the blades connect.
