Newbie mounting question (please be kind!)

Post by dai_m »

Hello all, Im hoping someone can help me out. I like to do paper cuts in my spare time, up until now ive mounted them using an acetate sandwich behind the glass in a box frame, to get the shadow 3D effect.
However this is fussy and often im not keen on the result as the cut is too close to the glass.
Ive found another paper artist who is mounting work in exactly the way i want to, but i have no idea hows its being done.
If anyone can advise i would really appreciate it, ive included a couple of images of his work below so you can see what i mean.
If anyone also makes simple straight edged deep box frames also in the pics i'd like a chat as well.
Thanks
Dai

Have you tried contacting the artist/framer and asking them?

Pay to get one framed by a professional and then get it home and take it to pieces to see how's it done. You don't mention how much framing experience you have.

Or just charge a realistic price to cover skill and costs and time then outsource the framing, and get them all done properly.
