Glass pricing

Post by craigfda »

I'm sorry if this has been answered hundreds of times already:

I've been using Estlite for two years and have basically used the settings as they came, more or less. I'm now at thinking I need to refine the pricing a bit more but am not sure of the mathematics of it all and God knows I'm no natural when it comes to business matters.

Basically, I want to add UV92 glass as an option because it is obviously a lot more expensive than 2mm float but also a lot cheaper than Tru Vue's museum standard glass. I would previously just have selected "museum glass" settings but I'm not sure this is an accurate or fair price for the UV92. Basically, it's going to cost me £65 for a 122 x 91 sheet. How do I enter it into the table to reflect that cost?

Hope that makes some sense.

I believe in Estlite, that for sheet material, you enter the price you want to sell a piece of 40x50cm for, you will also have to enter a minimum price that you want to sell a piece for, then the software will work out the cost of the sheet material on those prices you have entered , plus it will add on whatever you wastage % is as well. so for a piece of glass 40x60cm it will work the cost from the 40x50, add the minimum amount and then add whatever you wastage % is to the figure, so you will need to bare in mind the additions to the base price,
now that was as clear as mud :sweating: :sweating:

On main Estlite screen push the 'Options' button then select the 'Prices' tab. You'll see the Glass table where you add the glass description and as Steve says the price for a 40 x 50cm piece and a minimum price, remember to include the price of your backing board in these figures

Why add backing board when pricing glass? There are different types of backing board and different thicknesses of each type as well.

Estlite doesn't have a separate backing board pricing structure, it assumes this is incorporated into the glass price. We incorporate our 'usual' back board into the glass price.

OK, didn't know that; seeing as the problem is knowing what to charge, regardless of size, I think Craig should study the following, in detail.
