Canvas box help!

Hello!

Does anyone know where I can source a canvas box for a canvas of depth 4.5cm....plain wood to stain white...needs to have a worth no thicker that 8 or 9mm...

The Rose & Hollis A320 deep one Is slightly too shallow.

Any help or direction much appreciated.

Turn it upside down and put a piece of ply in the bottom.

I'm thinking to do something along those lines but the A45 is too thick at the bottom...

Make your own then with planks of obeche (available from R&H).

What size? PAR obeche is available online, some of it quite
Thin but it’s only available in shorter lengths. Rose and Hollis
Do a spacer which is 47mm wide, that may work depending
On how you want to attach the base.

Think im going to have to go down the route of constructing my own out of the obeche spacers from R&H like suggested...
PAR looks to be a good shout but is very pricey and I need this relatively quick.

Just got to make sure I create as strong as possible join...

There may be ways of making this a lot easier. I'm hoping that the customer is allowing you a space between the inside of the tray and the outside of the canvas, if so with that amount of depth you can probably include a 25mm by 6mm thick spacer between the canvas and the inside of the tray.

I've not got a Rose and Hollis catalogue to hand as I'm not in my shop, so I'm assuming that the 45mm wide R & H spacer is probably also 6mm thick. This means that if you glue the two 6mm thick spacers together there will still be a space between the canvas and the tray of 6mm, but the thickness towards the rear of the tray is increased to 12mm.

This is very useful as it is now easier to stack wedges within a greater thickness of wood and means that a thin piece of board can be fixed to the back without needing to go to close to the outer edge of the tray, thus greatly reducing any visibility of the board when the tray is insitue haning on a wall.
