Indian Wedding Skirt
This is an Indian wedding dress, which the client wanted to be able to remove and possibly down the line wear (we all know she never will)
It had an Mdf former cut to fit snug inside then was stuffed and lined in linen. The visible section in the waist line was then attached to the backboard by screwing in from behind. The dress is held in place with carefully placed stitches. I lined the board myself as it's 1.5 by 1.3metres, also wrapped the 10cm deep spacers. Framed in solid oak frame with hand gilded slip. UV glass
Please don't ask what I charged, having completed the job it's a bit of a the price. I'll just say the oak alone was £400

Re: Indian Wedding Skirt
That is one of the best examples of clothing framing I have seen on this forum, the dress looks so natural, not squeezed into the frame, well done

Re: Indian Wedding Skirt
Thank you all. Yes James had it milled at the local timber yard, then a carpenter friend across the yard ran it through it his table saw to mitre it.

Beautiful a lovely job to be proud of. Hope they had a strong wall. Do you know how they fixed it up?

Re: Indian Wedding Skirt
Thank you. It had a ply wood sub frame on the rear which also acted as a split batten.
