I have got some of that 2040 pine from https://www.ashworthandthompson.co.uk/m ... -pine.html
That I inherited with the business do you just mitre and join and use there are no groves to insert wedges so how is it a stretcher frame? Other than the fact you can stretch something over it but cant re tension in the future sorry if I come across a bit thick but just trying to learn and understand.

Heh, easy there fella ! the customer was very pleased with them  You can't be too precise with these things, unless you're doing these things day in day out, then you could probably get down to 1mm overlap but that was my best shot

I hope my comment was read as playfully as it written. :)

Correct, you just mitre and join as normal and then stretch the canvas over it.
Correct, it can't be re-tensioned in the future.
I would use this for the cheapo canvas prints.

A lot of the printed canvases are man made material and don't in my experience seem to be effected by humidity and temperature as natural canvases, so don't seem to need to be re stretched, so you can get away with using wood from B&Q ( other DIY stores available) mitre and join (no glue necessary ) I just rub some sandpaper over the sharp corners before stretching the canvas

My first canvas job used the Mainline system for stretcher bars. Probably didn’t charge enough but learned a lot for next time.
