Rough edges on mountboard bevels
Hi. My mount cutter has suddenly started leaving rough edges on bevel cuts. I take it that this means the blade is blunt, or have I got a bigger issue? Thanks
Re: Rough edges on mountboard bevels
How often do you change the blades?

Based on experience I'd say you need to change your blade If it's on the inside (next to the 'art') of the cut I'd change your slip mat too

Rough edges is usually a sign that the slip mat needs replaced.
I never go over the same bit twice as even just the second cut in the same place leaves me with ragged edges.

What are you using as a mat slip, concrete slabs or bricks might produce that effect, using normal mount board should yield far more than a net usage of 1 cut from a slip sheet.

I always tell people to do this when I'm training them. Largely because I know they won't do it every time - but at least they'll do it!pramsay13 wrote:Rough edges is usually a sign that the slip mat needs replaced.
