Question regarding selling or not to sell

Post by Photal »

Hi
I have a couple of items that I might like to sell but not sure if I can on here. Also I would like to use them if I could still. I will explain now.

I have an ACER 35mm slide/neg scanner it is a good one and cost a bit. Used it often but I went Mac and the machine needs a SCSI connection, you can see where I'm going with this? I have thought about converters but then I have the trouble with software updates to get it to work. Is it worth me wasting time on this? Also it did not scan 120 and 5x4 so I used a flat bed. Can anyone advise on the situation? should I sell and buy new that scans all the neg sizes or try and convert it?

I also have an A3 printer Epson R1800 with roll paper holder. Epson make some good printers and this was an example but the ink is cost of a small island. It needs purging as not used for a while and I get my printing done else where as cheaper and less hassle. Anyway does anyone know if you can print vinyl for t-shirts on the machine? if you can I may keep it but if not I will sell it as it works but just needs some purging and cleaning. Do the inkwell systems work out better?

Cheers Aaron

Aaron, I had the same thing with an A3 epson untill I spoke to them and they said it requires printing an A4 sheet in colour each week to keep it working properly.

Just a thought

If you were happy with the results from your Acer scanner when using it with a windows machine then I would get yourself a SCSI USB adapter and then download the driver software from Vuescan. They support many scanners including Acer/BenQ and offer a free trial.

Don't know anything about vinyl t-shirt printing but maybe you could ask on the T-Shirt Forum?

Since these are items which may be of interest to other framers, there is no reason why you should not advertise these on the forums Adverts/sales/wants section. Feel free to go ahead.
