The Christmas Big'un.

Masking removed. Beginning to look decent.

Flipped over (with some effort) and the liner fixed in. All the back nicely papered with gummy tape (quite a lot).
Little bendy mirror plates attached ready for the canvas. At this point the artist was on his way with the painting.

Well it went in with a bit of jiggling....

Job Done. Now to get it out of the door. There wasn't much leeway.
Hard to appreciate the scale from photos. The artist (seen here) is Daniel Crane who is on the whole not
a very short guy. He brought the canvas and took the framed picture away in his horse-box. Which was a bit surreal.
Sorry I couldn't get a photo of the entire thing and it was dark outside, but he did hope to get a photo of the painting in situ at
the customer's house. If he did manage it I'll post it.

Re: The Christmas Big'un.
Excellent job and great tutorial.
I hope you priced it correctly!
p.s. I've had a horse-box collection before too, although it was only for maybe around a 6' x 4' frame.

Re: The Christmas Big'un.
A couple of questions if you don't mind
Do you and that customer design the frame together or does he leave it completely to you? and, why the extra couple of inches? (5' 2")

Re: The Christmas Big'un.
That is the artist's 'signature' design. All his frames are variations of that theme, mainly smaller.
5' 2" ? As good a dimension as any.
