Hi Everyone
I have just fitted a brand new set of Morso blades and they are pretty stiff. I can operate it put I have to pull up each time it doesn't go back into position smoothly. I have tried oiling the blades but it has only helped a little. Are there any adjustments I can make?

Re: New morso blades stiff
Hi And Welcome MarkF2009.
It sounds as if they aren't bedded in right. Try removing them and cleaning the mating faces, You only need a
tiny bit of gunk inbetween to make them too tight.

The bottom blades may need moving outward very slightly to allow the cutting blades to pass without binding.

Like Mark, I'd say it's the bottom blades that need adjusting if the head won't return up.

Hi MarkF2009
About a thou gap (thickness of a cigarette paper) between the top and bottom blades is needed.
If you put a little 3-in-one oil on the side of the top blades once they are correctly fitted and tight and then lower them slowly, a mark will appear in the oil where they bind and you can adjust the bottom blades as need be.
When adjusting the bottom blades remove all the wood chips from the bottom blade holes and allen bolts so you get full adjustment and make sure you have a nice V around the top blades with the bottom blades with no gaps at the front of the bottom blades.
Adjust the bottom blades finger tight first with an allen key so you can make easy adjustments and once happy tighten them up.

"Cigarette paper" So simple. loosen the bottom blades and slid them away from the top blade, slip a cigarette paper into the gap, slid the bottom blade back towards the top blades and against the cigarette paper and lock the bottom blades in position. Everyone can manage that.
Nice one Jan.
