Just got them back sharpened and they're still not great... A lot of friction pushing hardwoods apart- Softwoods ripping on back edges... Manufacturing defaults etc... No way these are better than the new morso blades.

Dunno if this helps but I had blades that weren't sharpened properly once and I had exactly the same issue - especially pushing some mouldings apart whilst cutting.

So it's been over 2 years since I started this thread, I thought I would give you all an update, after a good load of sharpens the framers corner blades are still out performing the genuine morso blades, in fact when it's time for the morso ones to go on, I feel a genuine pang of disappointment.

I concur!! Think I need to be getting myself another set of FC blades got 2 sets and they really do outperform my 3 morso ones!!

How time flies as well! Two years!!!??!

Drat - I told myself that when the time came I'd try these - it came - I forgot, new Morso blades arriving tomorrow. Why couldn't this have been bumped a day earlier!

Sorry that is my lazyness, I have been meaning to post for a while.
I am however a little concerned about the duff set reported on here, I have never heard of a duff set of morso blades sent out.

Apart from the defect on the side of our blades, they still only last about 3 weeks before needing re-sharpening- Our Morso blades last almost 2 months before needing changing. Baffled to hear the contrary from so many others.

I've just bought a second set because when the first set were away for sharpening the Morso spare set just weren't good enough.

Been meaning to get some of these, so ordered last week, they were here the next day, put them on the machine, and so far very impressed, even the box they come in is a work of art

With my second set I had the same symptoms as FFrames describes. Turns out the hardened edge was pulling away. Framers Corner replaced them once I'd returned the dodgy set but replacements had the same problem! So second set returned for a refund and a set genuine Morso blades purchased in their place which are perfect.

Seems to be a lottery then, I have 2 x perfect sets, I should not be needing to by any more as I have just invested in a cs939 , long overdue.

Seemed I spoke too soon, they are very good on soft wood but terrible on anything hard, OAK, ASH and Ramin, even finger jointed pine

, they just push the wood away when cutting, going to send them for sharping next week at my usual place and see they improve

Where the hardened edge joins the main body of the blade you'll see a dark line. If this is gapping even a tiny amount you'll get the symptoms Steve describes.

I got a set of these a few weeks ago as it was time to replace a pair of my Morso ones. I finally got round to fitting them last week, but it took ages to get the cut right, put them on and off about four times to see if that helped, tweaked the left fence lots. Managed to cut some mouldings really we'll with them, but others just could not get a good join at all.

The moulding I was working on for a batch of frames yesterday would just not cut properly at all and I was just not happy with the corners as there was a big gap constantly, usually on the inside. for over an hour I tweaked the left fence, played about with them, but could not get it right. Luckily I had not sent the Morso ones away for sharpening yet, so dug them out and straight away perfect corners every time.

The Framers Corner ones are certainly nice and sharp and seem really good for me on some mouldings, but anything with a coating I just can't seem to get them a decent mitre, will send them away for sharpening just in case to see if that improves things and update.
