Hi Forum elite,
Can anyone point me in the right direction towards up and coming framing courses within Scotland (Glasgow). I seem to be struggling with some issues and this may resolve it!
I don’t know what the education is in your part of the world…..sorry
If you would like to post some of the issues I will try and help you or alternative if you want to email me at dermot@matting-systems.com or you can phone me on +353 87 2575059
Jerome (Jerry) Feig who posts on this forum from time to time sent to me from the US a number of years ago as box of picture farming books……I was talking to Jerry yesterday as to what I should do with these books as I have retired from framing to concentrate on another business…….Jerry said I was to pass the books on to people who partake on this forum…….it’s a while since I had a look at these books ………but believe me they cover virtually all aspects of framing….let me know what your wish list is for education and I will see what I have…….
BTW….The offer of the books is on a first come bases
I will when I have some time to spare…..well mainly when I’m up to sorting all the framing stuff, I need to go through all the equipment and supplies and decide what I will sell, give away or keep, I’m not ready to tackle that job yet……I’m still quite emotional about retiring from the framing business…….it was very good to me for ten years or so …….I’m been gentle with myself about how I finalise my relationship with framing.
To get you started most of what Jerry sent me was need to study for the CPF® exam/test….have a look here… Have a look at the study material part of the guide to the CPF® Exam http://www.ppfa.com/pdf/04_CPF_Study_Guide.pdf it’s down near the bottom
I have some other stuff which I will sort over time.
What I would really like is if someone would volunteer to take all of my library and then list them for loan to other members of this forum…….it would need someone to work out an postal library type system…….if someone will take on that task I will box up all my books and send them to that volunteer ……..let me know if anyone is up to it……or perhaps this is not a workable idea…..
I have being thinking about my suggestion and I think you would make a great volunteer ……..I take it you will take the job on…….I know Jerry would be very happy if you were to take ownership of the books……….better still as I think about this more that’s what I will do…..I will send the lot to you…….
John you are wonderful for volunteering …….you have just made my day…..

Hi Dermot,
What a wonderful generous offer. I would be more than happy to participate in such a scheme as I would like to take the exam in the not to distant future. I can also offer my services if I can assist in any way.

Hi All
After such a great offer was shown here I thought I would see if anyone had any books on Mount Cutting they dont need any longer? I am just about ready to take the plunge and buy myself a Keencut Ultimat Gold. So any books that need a new loving home on the subject of mountcutting will be welcome to move into my little workshop cabin.

ps If the books feel unhappy to leave home without their friends the framing books, they will also be welcome.
One of my lastg students to go through my 5 day course was from Glasgow. We were able to get him cheap B&B as well.
Email me if you want more information and a full prospectus of all our courses.
