Hi all,
I just found out that Microsoft are stopping support for Windows 7 from tomorrow.
I've only got it on an old laptop, but that has my itunes on, plus I'd like to keep it 'alive' as a back-up.
So (if anyone still has any Windows 7 devices!), has anyone found any cheapo fixes, or will I have to stump up £120 for Windows 10. The laptop is not even worth that, so i'd be very grateful for a cheaper solution!

Stopping support doesn't really mean anything, everything will still work as it does now. Nothing lasts forever though if you have applications that require updates then maybe there will be a time what Windows 7 isn't fully supported by your application. Until then I wouldn't panic.
Re: Windows 7 advice
I had a windows 7 rig until April this year. As the PC was 10 years old I treated myself to a new one with win 10.
Still have the old PC set up and it works fine. Bit slow now I've got used to the new one.
I never did update the old machine. The roof's still on.

Re: Windows 7 advice
Thanks guys. What concerns me is online security.
Saying that, I suppose I could keep it offline and just us it for itunes...but that has to update etc.
I'm like you, Peter; I never bothered updating Windows 7. But it is a worry that Microsoft will cease trying to keep ahead of the hackers/malware and all that.
If I find any solutions, I'll bung them on here.

All mine are windows 7, except one with 8 on, that's for my accounts
A lot of my programs/software, are old and most probably not run on 8 or 10
just keep your ant-virus up to date , something I have to do this week

Re: Windows 7 advice
I just kicked the can down the road by buying a pre-loved Sony Vaio (with a fresh Windows 10 installation) off fleabay.
Will still need to sort the other one out, but no rush now.
