The middle ‘bit’ not lifting evenly? It has always been like it and hasn’t bothered me, but I’m wondering if could cause any excessive wear or distortion over time?
Should my Keencut look like this?

Re: Should my Keencut look like this?
The cutter bar.
The whole assembly, cutter bar and lifting arm is fairly heavy, and pivots at the front.
The lifting lever out of shot on the left is diagonally opposite the far pivot point so can’t really be expected to fully operate that as well as the one right by it.
With it lowered, try putting something the same sort of height as the lifting lever roller thingy under the lifting bar at the same point on the opposite side. If it lifts more on the new opposite side now, then maybe there is an adjustment that can be made at the pivot point, but I don’t remember if that’s do-able.
I do know keencut will bend over backwards to advise though.
(I would have thought that with keencuts being the most popular uk manual cutters, someone actually using one would have chipped in by now, the forum’s been a bit quiet for a while)

Re: Should my Keencut look like this?
Thanks. I did that and it didn’t lift any higher so it may be there is no adjustment. My lifting lever regularly falls off and needs screwing back in, so I did wonder is something similar is happening at the far end.
I’m not particularly worried, but as I’ve been cutting some larger mounts recently I’ve noticed it a bit more and am curious if it is common.
