A44-p underpinner from A+ automation

Post by Nigeman »

Can anyone help me. I bought one of these machines. The spec says it can join mouldings up to 160mm wide. I can only join up to a max of 70mm wide. My supplier thinks I need a different clamp arm to add 25mm, so now max 95mm. Can anyone with this machine post a picture of how the clamp bar is pulled back far enough to fit a moulding wider than 70mm. I attach a photo of my max width possible on my machine. Am I missing something as to why I cant join wider mouldings?
Thanks for any help

Mine is an Alfamacchine so similar, up to 150mm, or remove clamp for bigger

Thank you NTG999. Your clamping arm goes back a lot more than mine. The metal guide under the serrated pushing head will not fit beyond the 70mm mark. I wonder if my clamping arm is the correct one for this model? I have attached a photo of below and side view of the arm if this helps my problem being described better. Again, I will take any help / suggestions.
Thanks

I haven't got this machine but can you not take the clamp of the runner and move it back to other holes on the bar that its attached to?
It looks like this will give you more room for wider mouldings,
Just a thought

Thanks Dave. I have tried this but the large block that the serrated business end of the arm is screwed onto will not fit into the space where the 2 locating lugs are. If it did fit then I would still not be able to join any mouldings that fell between my current max position and the location in front of the lugs. That would mean any mouldings between 70mm and 115mm wide would be off limits to me. If the support bridge in the middle of the clamp arms channel was not there, then I could. The bridge is an integral part of the machine top and not a bolt on piece. I appreciate your suggestion though.
Cheers
