Washi Tape: Success & Where To Buy?

I have metres and metres of gold slip that I won't use. Somebody suggested Washi tape as a solution - use it to tape over the slip. I've googled and looked at various suppliers, but can only find supplies for hobbyists and journaling enthusiasts, and nothing wider than 15mm. Can anyone suggest a supplier? And would it even be a good idea? Anyone use it for framing? If it was a good idea, I'd also consider it for my plain wood slips instead of painting.

The best way to find out is to buy some and see what you get.
But think about what might give you some grief.
How easy is it going to be running this tape, or any tape, over a length of slip without creating a crease or fold?
Will the tape fold easily across the front edge and or into any small scoop along that edge?
And is it opaque when used over gold slips?

Google up Wide Plain washi tapes and you should see several inexpensive outlets but for all the trouble, it might be easier to just use paint.

If you must use self adhesive tapes, I'd suggest looking at the deep bevel tape range from Slater Harrison. It comes in black, Ivory, White, Off White and Gold and is 48mm wide. I've used it to cover deep bevelled foamboard for making super deep mounts. It's totally up to the job once burnished well.
