Picture Framing Course

Post by Sinerva10 »

Hi

Just starting out in picture framing but need to do some training before firing the gun.

All the courses offered seem to be either London based or South Coast based.

Anyone know of courses closer to the Midlands ?

Look forward to any advice

We do training too, but we are most definitely south coast based as we're in Devon!

I can vouch for the framers equipment Beginners course day in Northampton. It got me started and they can send you home with all of the sundries that you need from their extensive store and some shiny new equipment if required.

I recently did a course with Jim @Gessoandbole - an excellent day full of information and inspiration, highly recommend. A couple of weeks later and I'm still digesting all the nuggets of wisdom and ideas. I think he mostly does one to ones so it can be tailored to your exact requirements.

Also another vote for Jan and Peter at Framer's Equipment - they run beginners courses, conservation, box framing... all you need to know and Jan's been framing since he was knee high to a grasshopper so I don't imagine there's anything he doesn't know. And as Justin says, anything you need to buy that's mentioned on the course, you can either order from them while you're there, or take home on the spot.
