Be very careful with Facebook marketplace

So when you think you have made a reasonable purchase on FB marketplace, contacted the seller, agreed a price, transferred the money and waited, and waited. After 6 weeks you realise lielielie - lie after lie after lie! The seller is based in NI. I've screenshotted as the ad is still on FB.

I made the purchase as it seemed a good price for supplies I use and hoped to save a little against the main supplier costs, sadly it was not the best decision I have made and now £200 out of pocket.

I'd be really happy to delete this post and send an apology to the seller- if the items arrive - unlikely to happen though.

Take care people when buying on FB and paying for what you think is a legitimate purchase

Facebook is infested with scammers.

I adopt a principle across the board, but especially on Facebook of “guilty until proven innocent”!

Profiles are scrutinised; any little niggling doubt and they’re blocked.

Ive bought and sold successfully but never ever by payment on line in any form unless it’s bank transfer with the person stood in front of me, collection only too.

[[/i]BIT LONG BUT WOTH READING - May save you getting scammed

My experience from Feb. Very nice ad on FB saying we are 100 year old London clothing company called FELIX. Sadly closing down. All stock must go. On the website some very nice chunky pullovers . Normally £150 . Now going for only £39.95
Ordered 1 and paid with my Mastercard. Long wait and then this really naff PRINTED pullover arrived obviously from China
Told them I want to return as nothing like the ad, They offered me 10% off to keep it. Told them no. Offred me 20% to keep it. Said NO again.

Contacted my Credit Card and when he heard the name FELIX, he said " Oh not them again. Have had that name a few times today"
Advice was to ask them to collect ( which we all know they wont) and after 14 days contact me again and we will credit your statement
BUT FIRST THING .... you must stop using that card. The scammers have the card details and may sell it to other scammers or use it again to simply charge any amount to your card. We will issue you with another card. They forgot to send me a new card and it was 2 months later before a replacement card arrived. Then the hassle of advising a few companies of the new card number who debit me monthly for subs , Another hassle

ALSO Don't ever buy anything from Face Book with out first checking them on TRUST PILOT. I checked FB and FELIX only get 1 star from all those who have posted a comment Trust Pilot really should have option to score them with a ZERO

Hope this sorry story helps others to be extra careful.

Never buy anything by mail on marketplace. If you can't drive around to pick it up then don't bother with it.
