Forum very slow

Post by Rainbow »

The last few times I've been to the forum, it's been very slow. Slow to get on to it, and slow response to clicking any of the links or posts. I'm not having any trouble on a couple of the other forums I belong to, or web sites generally. Is anyone else finding it slow?

Me too.
Is it some sort of Google up-date thing?

Very slow last two days but intermittently so.

Thought maybe this was about it not being very busy.

Now it's gone back to normal. I wonder if John has tweaked something?

So did I. Twelve hours later, normal has disappeared again and it's back to slow.

To summarise - so far it’s been slow, slow, quick quick, slow.

Nope it's been like a dog crawling into a hole to die the last few days.
Has anyone been in touch with John the Boss?

I can't claim any credit, but the speed seems to have returned.

It’s up and down, it’s taking 20 seconds to load a page at the moment.

(Edit) Closer to 40 to post a reply

Same here.
My reply was too hasty
It looks like the forum's database is under a DOS attack.
I am checking through the available forum support in an attempt to find a solution

Very slow again. On the forum for phpBB which is what this forum uses, someone mentioned on Sunday that it was very slow and some people are blaming Cloudfare, which apparently is the server for phpBB. The conversation goes back to June, and I think it must be a couple of weeks since I first noticed it.
