Backboard for open frame

Hi

Im making frames for a school that want to display students work , the work will be changed every week.

A3 size internal , open frame no glass. What would you use as a backing for looks around boarder of the students work , and the durability that can take knocks , and pins etc ?

Painted cork if they want to pin the work?

Would you use chalk paint ? Poster paint ?

Anything you like with a coat or two of Polyvine dead flat matt over the top which will seal it.
