Modern World Payment Provider

Post by Zac »

Hi all,

Slightly off topic, but I was just wondering if anyone had been approached by/is using Modern World (https://mwbsolutions.co.uk/) for their payment provider?

They offer a 1.25% transaction fee on card payments which is lower than SumUps 1.69% which I'm currently using, but they just seem a bit pushy, which always sets off a few alarm bells so thought I'd just see if anyone else is using them.

Cheers,

Zac

How much is the monthly rental for the machine and have you factored that in?

There's no monthly fee, an no upfront costs for the contract or the card reader. They do charge a 25p handling fee but that's per day (on days when there are transactions to process only), not per transaction.

Do you have it in writing that they don't charge a monthly fee?
When I ask google who they are it suggests they do charge a monthly fee.
I can't find any details online of their transaction fee or handling fee.
It looks as though Modern World are a referral company so people sign up businesses to Modern World and they get a referral fee so that probably explains the pushiness.

Nothing in writing from them so far, have asked them to send over their terms/costs.

Thanks for the sanity check :)
