Solid Core Mountboard

Post by sydframer »

hi all!

I'm on the hunt for solid core mountboard in a wider range of colours than just white and white-adjacent. I have definitely seen someone using a red recently that looked lovely. I did briefly go down the microchamber route but don't think that is within my budget. Does anyone know any suppliers for this? Google is failing me.

Thanks!

I use the Crescent Rag Mat Museum Solids mount boards. There are not as many colours as there were in the old range, but plenty of white cream fawn browns greys and black. There is also one called Sanguine, which is a rusty orange if that helps.

There’s not much choice of colour core in the “microchamber”
(Alphamat/alpharag Artcare by Nielsen) range any more and I think crescent boards may be even more expensive??

Colour the bevel yourself for the cost of a few tubes of acrylic paint, or if you want to be real flash, wrap the surface paper of any board around its bevel - I’m sure I put a how to on here somewhere.

Edit - found it
