How easy is it to get Val to cut those mounts, they look so complicated
Hiya Phill,
It was I who was playing with the new toy and it was as easy as putting the kettle on.
The designs are all stored in Val's user library so its just a matter of click and cut, you are shown how to accsess these and some others on your training day. I did all of my customers work on Val yesterday single, double and multi aperture mounts.
The manual for Val is actually easier to understand than for my kettle, which reminds me i'm off to put it on for a brew.
It also helps to warm up the workshop - bonus!

I feel the same, but I just can't justify the cost at the moment, you would have to sell a lot of mounts, perhaps our new CMC users could tell us what price they would charge for a fancy mount, and if they think they have made a wise investment.Just a thought. Lord only knows when I'll get a CMC myself, but getting to share in all this excitement is almost as good as getting one's own CMC!

Hi Sam,
Welcome to the forum.
Maybe I'll get you to 'brew' be a couple of mounts sometime.

Many years ago we took a long hard look at CMC's and as to whether they would justify the nearly £10k that they cost.
We worked on 5 years for this beast to pay for itself. Two and a half years later it has done that and is now returning profit.
It has allowed us to offer the customers something different as well in the way of 'fancy mounts'. Whilst the standard rectangle/ovals are still the bread and butter mounts we are finding that the multi aperture customised mounts are selling very well, which is a good USP.
Price wise. Well have a look at Merlin Mounts to get an idea.
