I finally, after much procrastination, went for the casesse 486 ultra.
It is totally brilliant..the dogs do-da's!
What has been so good for myself is that i do a lot of deep box frames, in ash & oak mainly.
previously I was having to join in vice and nail with gun. But hey-hey! the 486 will stack 2 x 10mm pins into ash!!
I know its a big expense, but will pay for itself pretty soon in time saved alone...as well as being a joy to use.
Thanks to all who contributed to this post, it really helped to make decision, and am more than happy with my choice.
just one more thing. I think if I was not doing so much deep ash, I would probably gone for cassese 89 (it think that is one with clamp and compressor??). I have very good reports of it from a framing friend who rates it very highly and I know does excellent work using it.
So if anyone was having same dilemma as mine I think that would be good option if you didnt want to spent nearly 4grand.
