J,

Tried using the "delete board cookies" to resolve the problem I have with automatic login each visit. Didn't work. Any other suggestions?

When I was testing earlier, I did the following:

1. Deleted cookies.
2. Closed the browser window.
3. I logged out and then closed the browser window.
4. Opened a new browser window, entered username/password and checked the "Log in automatically" option, then logged in.
5. Logged out and closed browser window.
6. Opened browser window and chose Framer's Forum from IE7 Favourites. I then had to log in manually.

Am I doing something wrong?

  1. Close all browser windows.
  2. Open browser, enter theframersforum.com in the address bar.
  3. Click Delete all board cookies
  4. Log in, enter your username and password and tick the Log me in automatically checkbox.
  5. On your desktop create a shortcut to http://theframersforum.com
    • (Right-click on desktop
select New from the pop-up menu, then Shortcut)
  6. Close browser window without logging out
When you click on your newly created desktop icon it should open a new browser window with you already logged into the forum.

If you never log out of the forum, you should always be automatically logged in when you visit the site.

Per S-box post, a big thankyou from the Mogster! (And even more appreciated after a particularly heavy all-nigher.)

Except for the fact that I cannot access this forum in Mac OS 9, I love the changes.

The avatars on the right take a bit of getting used to, but somehow I shall pick up the shattered pieces of my life and move on.

Thanks, John.

You Tube

Post by John »

It's easy to embed You Tube clips in the forum.

Just enter the YouTube reference number between the youtube tags, like this.
The YouTube reference number is everything after the v= in the URL

So, for example, if this is the URL
Then this is what you enter into the text box when you are posting: -

Code: Select all

And this is the result

:D

With the exception of the brilliant FF event this year & the planned one for March 2011, I wonder if there has been another " thing " a comment etc, that started out on this forum that ultimately changed Picture Framing for the better ?

I was thinking on the lines of, through the " power " of the forum, such & such brought about a new way of thinking, a new event ( like the FF # 1 & FF # 2 ) etc.

Interesting to know what answers pop up.

Phill,

I think this is a very good question, but better to start it a a new thread, as its rather " buried" down here on page 4!

I think people will see it more easily :D
