Hello:) I'm looking for some help. I have been given a pair of Morso blades to sell on behalf of a friend. The trouble is, I know less than zip about them - I'm an artist, not a framer. I've done some research and believe them to be genuine Morso - they have 2morso 09 stamped on them plus 04 (year of manufacture?) Now to the dopey questions... How can I tell if they have been used and reground? How can I tell if they are standard or reversable? I can tell you that they are scarily sharp Also, assuming they are 'used' what would be a fair price for them? I am anxious not to misrepresent them when I sell them on ebay but I don't want to under sell them either. I'd be grateful for any advice.
Many thanks.
Dominic
Morso Blades
Re: Morso Blades
Follow this link to find out more abour morso's on EBay
In summary:
second hand around £35-£100 depending on condition.
You shouldn't have any trouble selling them. I am not sure but the 09 might be 0902 for the model 'B' and 'BA'.
04 is the year of manufacture.
Hope this helps
In summary:
New.... they sell for £120 - £250Blades - but these can be re-sharpened!
(Important notes on Morso Blades):
•Brand New moso blades are 70mm deep (from back to front).
•Morso blades (or "knives") are best sharpened by the hollow ground method. Many sharpening services have the correct Morso machine to sharpen them.
•Blades come in PAIRS - and have the year of manufacture stamped on them. Make sure each blade bears the same date and code, otherwise you have a mis-matched set (like the one I once bought on ebay and spent five sharpening sessions getting them the same at twelve quid a time.... dont make the same mistake I did!) Dont assume they are a pair: ask first, and check!
