Strutbacks on oval frames

Post by Not your average framer »

Hi,

One of my regulars has asked me if I can do some oval frames with strutbacks. I said I'd like to think about it first. I've seen it done with the old clips and bars, but I can't say I'm convinced about the idea. I think it will be very easily knocked over. Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks,
Mark

We call them "standbacks" down here.

The "strutback" would need to have two well spread legs or one really wide leg. You could make them out of MDF and paint them black or whatever colour works.
