Any ideas what this is please?

Hello I bought some "stuff" off a few different sellers and have slowly worked through it all but I can not understand what this part is it has the numbers 79 on it and it looks like it may be from the morso which the ID number ends with 79. it is well engineered and I can sort of see an angle of 45% in it
I have tried putting it all over the morso but still have no clue any ideas please?

It's a rebate support - right hand I think, and there should already be two on your morso; if not you need the other one.

Hi Bill,
As Robo said its a rebate support and your Morso should have two, one on each side they slide backwards and fowards and adjust up and down to support under the rebate of the picture frame moulding when mitring, to stop the rebate braking when the blades come down to chop the moulding.

In the picture below you will see where it fits on the Morso.

Thank you once again I have put it on I only have one I will email the chap I bought it off but I dont think he will have it
I have a terrible memory but now I slightly remember him giving me that part and saying I am not sure what this is but it comes with the morso I have made about ten frames without it and I did have some problems but I was only making simple and not decorartive moldings so I just turned the molding over and cut it upside down .
Its all clear now and I need to get the left rebate support as you look at the morso It does not look cheap

If not, I have a very old right hand side rebate support you are welcome to have.

I can't bear to think of you cutting any more frames without two rebate supports.

The one I have fits on the left as you look at the morso facing it so I now think it is the right one if you were behind the morso facing the back I am very confused now and they say it is only the fairer sex that mess up their right and left

If it slides on the left (facing you) groove, with the flat bit that moves up and down nearest to the blades, it's the left support, sorry if I caused confusion - did my head in a bit without having my own in front of me to compare, but I was sure that if it wasn't the right, it was the left

Its definitely a left-hand rebate support in the photo. Trust me - i got 59 out of 60 in my visuo-spatial reasoning test at college. Admittedly I've been killing brain cells almost constantly in the 20 years since though. Chin-chin

Those are not a cheap item if you ever want a new one.

There are replacement ones that allow you to raise the support higher. I think they are nearly £200 a pair.

I tack pieces of wood to the supports to gain extra height.

I have one in stock - right hand rebate support, its the new type which will fit your Morso.
The old type only went to 25mm in height the new type go to 40mm in height.
