The Honda crotch rocket rider was traveling at approximately 85 mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she
pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The rider's reaction time was not sufficient
enough to avoid this accident. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them.
The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.
All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at
the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department.. Pass this on to car drivers or soon to be
new drivers, or new motorcycle owners
AND ESPECIALLY EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO HAS A CELL PHONE!!!!!
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Save a life…
Stop talking on Cell phones and Texting while trying to drive.
The life you save may be your own..... or mine...

Re: salutary lesson
My heart goes out when I see things like this - but then I put my thinking cap on. Side street? 85MPH? A 1.2 tonne car pushed 20 yards by a bike and rider?
There's no doubt it was a horrific accident, one of many each day on our roads. But it appears that at least one person and probably both drivers were driving illegally.

Re: salutary lesson
tend to agree with that - If you cannot stop in the distance you see clear - you are going too fast! as for 85mph!! side roads i look for eye contact - Country roads are the worst when turning right i always listen to hear if anything is coming - so no sterio/radio on in my car!!

Re: salutary lesson
My plea would be for EVERYONE to wear seat belts. ALWAYS.
My husband and I were involved in a fatal car crash on Salisbury Plain over 20 years ago. The driver whose car collided with ours died on impact. He was not wearing his seat belt when they recovered him. I was asleep and suffered a broken femur and all my husband had a cut on his knee. We both had our seat belts on, even after the impact.
The seat belt bruises were a small price to pay for our lives that day.
