Job Vacancy - Framing/CMC operator

Post by kev@frames »

We are again looking for a further part time framer/assistant/ all-rounder with a medium volume production and custom framing background- or a suitable trainee with the right background such as NVQ2 joinery/woodworking/bench joiner/similar time-served trades.

In all probability this will turn out a near-full/full time job later for the right applicant

The job would be highly suitable for somebody who has worked at a small 1 or 2 man framing operation and who would like to move on to a place where the workload and production is quite a higher volume all year round and a bit more "production" rather than "design/poncing-about". We do NOT do "trade" or "Contract" PITA work.

Initially your main job will be at least 2 days a week cutting mounts (CMC) from job sheets, packing and shipping, and frame finishing/workshop assitant until you get into the swing of things. We have daily FedEx consignments to ship, plus daily postal consignments which have to be ready (packed) on time.

To fit in you will need to be considerably smarter than the average muppet on the street, as we operate some upside-down management procedures, where you will be given responsibility on many aspects of your work and the business, and deaing with the public and some of our many "corporate" buyers (Museums, TV and media, household name companies etc) as well as "shop counter" customers.

We value initiative and commonsense, an attention to detail, and the ability to "get on with it".

We work two or three overlapping shifts, usually only people in the workshop at a time. Days, Lates and "Vampire" shift. We operate a Wizard CMC, Alfamacchine undepinners, Keencut System 4000, Morso, the usual equipment.

We are located in Penzance, West Cornwall.

please have a look at http://www.frames.uk.com/jobs if interested.

Thanks
Kev
